Fortinet Discovers Adobe InDesign Out-of-Bounds Read Vulnerability

Summary

Fortinet's FortiGuard Labs has discovered an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in Adobe InDesign.


Adobe InDesign is a desktop publishing and typesetting application produced by Adobe Systems. It can be used to create works such as posters, flyers, brochures, magazines, newspapers, presentations, books and ebooks.


An out-of-bounds read vulnerability has been discovered in Adobe InDesign by FortiGuard Labs. The vulnerability exists because the vulnerable software can't correctly parse a crafted QXD file which causes an out-of-bounds address access. It could allow malicious users to create sensitive information leak scenarios.

Solutions

FortiGuard Labs released the following FortiGate IPS signature which covers this specific vulnerability:
